A blog is an online diary or journal. The term ‘blog’ is a shortened version of ‘web log’. A blog is usually a collection of comments revolving around one particular topic or perspective.
Although blogs have been around for over ten years, it is only within the last couple of years that they have started to generate mass appeal.

Many businesses are now recognising the enormous marketing potential that a blog offers through RSS technology and have started to consider the medium as part of the corporate communication mix.
Wordpress is probably the most well-known open-source blogging software. It can be personalised to suit any businesses needs. Problogger by Darren Rowse gives a good example of what a professional blog can do for business.
